One of the first publicly funded shelters, HSS’s Shelter for Domestic Violence Survivors has provided safe refuge and onsite social services in NYC for survivors of domestic violence and their children since 1977. During their stay, residents are educated on family safety, non-violent relationship choices, economic self-sufficiency, and finding and maintaining permanent housing.

The YWCA Greenwich has been providing critical domestic abuse services in Greenwich, CT for over 40 years. Through the Harmony Project, they help address violence and abuse in the community through public awareness, professional training, violence prevention programs, and sustainability services such as housing, civil legal guidance, and financial empowerment.

Since 1980, the Domestic Violence Crisis Center (DVCC) has provided counseling and advocacy services in CT for victims of domestic violence and their children. DVCC is the only state-certified agency recognized by the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV) serving the communities of Norwalk, Stamford, New Canaan, Darien, Westport, Weston and Wilton.

The Rowan Center is a sexual violence prevention and intervention agency in CT which has provided free services to Stamford, Norwalk, Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Weston, Westport and Wilton for over 45 years. The Rowan Center counsels victims and survivors, advocates for them, and educates communities to prevent sexual violence in the future.

WomenRising is the State of New Jersey’s designated provider for Hudson County’s domestic violence programming. For over 40 years, WomenRising has provided direct, immediate and comprehensive access to services 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week, for women and children victimized by domestic violence.

United Way of Coastal and Western Connecticut funds and supports community programs that help people in need, including women and families facing crisis situations like domestic violence. Through United Way’s Giving Fund or other assistance programs, individuals affected by domestic violence can get financial help.

The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services (UCDVS) serves victims and their children at sites located in Shelton and New Haven, CT. UCDVS seeks to provide practical assistance and support for victims of domestic violence, while creating an environment that supports individual safety and breaks the cycle of violence.

DC SAFE (Survivors and Advocates for Empowerment) is the only crisis intervention agency for domestic violence in Washington, DC operating 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. They seek to ensure the safety and self-determination of domestic violence survivors through emergency services, court advocacy, and system reform.

Women Against Abuse is the greater Philadelphia area’s only comprehensive domestic violence service provider. They seek to provide quality, compassionate, and non-judgmental services to those experiencing intimate partner violence and to end domestic violence through advocacy and community education.
